Opening Remarks: New MFANC Executive Director:

New Executive Director James Simonelli has joined MFANC and MFASC as the new Executive Director. Mr. Simonelli brings nearly 30 years of experience representing California’s metals industry—both as a lobbyist and association director. As the current leader of six California metal trade groups, including the California Metals Coalition (CMC), American Foundry Society (AFS) of California, and North American Die Casting Association (NADCA) Chapter 30, he has built a reputation for strong, collaborative leadership across the California metals manufacturing sector.

Dinner Speaker: Armando Garcia
Armando Garcia of Dicar Networks will discuss the critical transition to CMMC 2.0 and the “November 2026 Cliff”. As the DoD fully integrates these standards into solicitations, shops handling Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)—such as blueprints and specs—must now move from “self-attestation” to “audit-ready” status to maintain their ability to bid on defense work. Beyond compliance, Armando will provide practicalinsights and handouts on implementing AI in the workplace to help your shop stay competitive. This session is designed to provide metal finishers with a clear roadmap for surviving third-party assessments and leveraging modern technology to streamline operations.
