Air Quality Permitting for Metal Finishers – October 14
Continuing Education Webinar – via Go-To-Webinar or Call-in
Presenter: Michael McHale, Managing Consultant, ALL4
For metal finishing facilities, seemingly routine changes can have air permitting implications. Adding a process tank, changing chemistry, increasing production, modifying ventilation, or replacing emissions controls may require air district review or permit action before the change is made.
This session will provide a practical overview of air permitting for California metal finishers, with an emphasis on South Coast AQMD and examples from other California air districts. We will discuss how to recognize when a permit may be required, common exemptions, changes that can trigger permit action, and what to expect during the application and agency review process.
The goal is to help facility managers and EHS staff identify permitting issues early, understand what information an air district may need, and incorporate air permitting into project planning before equipment is purchased, installed, or modified.
