Hazard Communication is a fundamental component of workplace safety, particularly in metal finishing operations.
This training will provide an overview of federal OSHA and Cal/OSHA Hazard Communication requirements, with an emphasis on chemical hazards commonly encountered in the metal finishing industry. Participants will learn how to identify and understand chemical hazards, interpret Safety Data Sheets (SDS), recognize Globally Harmonized System (GHS) pictograms and hazard warnings, and understand chemical container labeling requirements.
The training will also address routes of chemical exposure, safe chemical handling practices, employee responsibilities, and common compliance issues. Examples from metal finishing operations will be incorporated throughout the training to reinforce key concepts and demonstrate how Hazard Communication requirements apply to everyday workplace activities.
